How to capture flattering photos?

I think you will agree this mum doesn’t need flattering photography. But let us make her look her very best. It is all about the lighting, really. This young couple gave me complete freedom to shoot them as I wanted. I started by taking photos of the young mother by herself.

Then I took some photos of the dad. He has a very impressive physique, and I wanted to capture that.

Roll over Mona Lisa

It has been said that the Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo da Vinci, has an “enigmatic smile”. I do not know if you will agree but I found myself thinking about the Mona Lisa when I was looking at this photo. So I compared the two. In my personal opinion the Mona Lisa looks like a frumpy old dud compared with the lady in my photo. But of course, poor old Leonardo didn’t have access to modern photo equipment! And he had to make do with the model he had.

Please don’t hate me! This is “tongue in cheek”. I couldn’t paint a decent picture any more than Leonardo could photograph one.

But I do sincerely believe that this lady is more beautiful than Leonard0’s Mona Lisa. You are free to disagree!
